KINDS OF SENTENCES (

There are four kinds of
sentences.

1. Declarative
or assertive sentence( Learn English through Tamil)
A sentence that
makes a statement or assertion is called a declarative or assertive sentence.
ஒரு அறிவிப்பினை கூறும் வாக்கியம் declarative sentence எனப்படும்

The sun rises in
the east
சூரியன் கிழக்கே உதிக்கிறது
Asia

2. interrogative
sentence (?)( Learn English through Tamil)
A sentence that
ask a question is called interrogative sentence.
ஒரு கேள்வியினை கேட்கும் வாக்கியம் interrogative sentence எனப்படும்
உதாரணம்
Where are you
going ?
நீ எங்கே செல்கிறாய் ?
Do they read ?
அவர்கள் படிகின்றார்களா ?
What is your age
?
உன்னுடைய வயது என்ன ?
3. Imperative
sentence ( Learn English through Tamil)
A sentence that expresses a
command or and entreaty is called an imperative sentence.
கட்டளை, விண்ணப்பம் , விருப்பம், போன்றவற்றை வெளிபடுத்தும் வாக்கியம் imperative sentence எனப்படும் .
உதாரணம் :
Please give me a bucket of
water
தயவு செய்து எனக்கு ஒரு வாளி தண்ணீர் கொடு.
Get my book
என் புத்தகத்தை எடு.
4. Exclamatory
sentence (!)( Learn English through Tamil)
A sentence that
expresses strong feeling is called an exclamatory sentence.
உடனடியாக , வலுவான , உணர்வினை வெளிப்படுத்தும் வாக்கியம் Exclamatory sentence எனப்படும்
உதாரணம்
How bright the
sun is!
சூரியன் எவ்வளவு பிரகாசமாக உள்ளது ! .
What nonsense !
என்ன முட்டாள்தனம் !
Exclamatory sentence ல் வினைச்சொல்லை கூட தவிர்க்க இயலும்
